PROJECT S?TE DE;CRIP1'.ION
Werinnd Resources, In:.. completed a wetland delir.eation on May 6,1996 on an approximate one ace
site located south of the intersection of 100th St. SW and 9th Ave W in the City of Everett. The
subject property is located in a portion of Section 24, Township 28N, Range 45E W.M. in the City uf
Everett, Washington.
This site is relatively flat with a slight depressional area located on its westem third. A collapsed
singfe family residence exis's just off site to the north. Much disturbance has occurred on this site
within the last five years, including clearing, filling, and ;rading. At [he time of the original
dulineation large fill piles existed along the northem propert oundary. These iill piles have either
been removed or giaded across the eastern two-thirds of t -ite. Vegetation on site is typical of
exuemely disiurbed sites in the city of Eve:ett. P. few mature ..ler remain around the perimeter of the
properry. The majority of the vegetadon on site is located on the western third of the property and is
dominated by pioneer red alder, black cottonwood, willows, scot's broom, Himalayan blackberry,
and softrush. A scrub/shrub wetland is loated within the westem third of the property. Hydrology
within the wetland appeazs to have been historically impacted by the development of surrounding
properties. Since the original delinea6on in May of 1996, the boundaries of the wedand have
increased in size. A man-made ditch is located along the southem boundary of the property. This
ditch appeazs to convey hydrology to the south during periods of heavy precipitation.
Tl;e City of Everett's Ordinance No. 1838-91 classifies the on-site wetlands as Category III. In the
City of Everett, Category III wetlands typically receive 50 foot protecuve buffers extending from the'v
fiagged wetland boundaries, and Category III Streams receive 25 foot buffers.
WCTLAND CLASSIFICATION - COWARDIN SYSTEh[
The wetland classification on s:`. as described Uy the Cowazdin System, aze as follows:
Wetland: Palustrine. Scrub-Shrub Wetland, Broad-leaved Deciduous, Saturated
WETLAND CLASSIFYCATTON - CI'fY OF EVERETT
The classification of the on site wetland, as described by ihe City of Everett Ordinance No. 1838-91,
is as follows:
Wetland: This wetland is less than one acres in size, does not have a forested wetland class and is
not Foresled. Wetlads with these characteris6cs are classifizd as Category III and are designated 50
foot protective buffers.
WETLAND DGTERNIiNATION REPORT
Boundary Determination Findings
Methodoloev: On site, routine methodology, as described in the Fedenl Manual For ldentifng and
Delineatin Jurisdictional Wedands, 1989 edition, was used for this detetmination, as required by the
City oi Everett. Under this me[hod the process for making a wetland determination is based on three
sequential steps:
1. Examination of the site for hydric soil conditions;
2. If hydric soils are found, then 4e presence of hydrology is detern:ined;
Pa
;
d _ _ _ _ --- -- -----rT-•£
