The � Work is generally described as follows: � This praject consists of all marine �vork r.ece�sary for the ne« I�'h Street viarina. Specific items of work include demolition of ezisting marine structures; dredeing � and disposal of approximatcly 230,000 cubic yards of sediments suitab!e for open- �vater; approximatcly 3,�00 lineal fect oi rack shore prctection sunounding the basin; construction of a new haid-out pier and floating docks; renovation of an , existing wharf into a Travelift pier with floating docks; construction of four pile- � supported approach piers and gang��ays; construction ef a new floating transient moorage dock; and construction of a new Z40 slip marina, including fumishing � and installing floating docks, guide piling, and utilities. The pier structures for this project are comprised of precast/prestressed concrete � deck panels supported by steel piles and pile caps. The fabricator-desimed float � systeni consists of approximately 81,000 square feet of concrete monolithic floats anchored with galvanized steel pipe piles. The eieht aluminum gangways are f fabricator-designed to meet the project requirements.
