The complaintant stated, ^Vacant house - open and accessible to vayrants and kids, broken windows, a real mes� . " On July 8th, 1988 an ' inspecti.on of' the house was conducted and picture�. were ; taken. � i The house was open to the public, some vandalism had been I done to the interior but not a total distruction of the I place. Carpeting was intact and I Yound no holea in the I walls . The plumbing needed to be updated and new iixtures j installed . The electrical service needed to be updated . �I Exterior windows were broken by objects thrown Chrough them . � The hou�e was a wood frame building built in 191U . 7'hi.s i house was structurally :aound . I Because the housc was a nu�sance to tiie neighborhood a :Letter I was sent to the owner c�E the property requesting him to take ( action to re�pair or. demolish the house . 1'his type of corre;pondence is ref.erred to as informal abatement . There was r.o response, from the owner of.' the property ::o the ne::t step was thc- i�suance of a Notice and Order requiring the owner of t.he property to repaic or demolish the hose. 'i'he Order was issued on October 7.7th, 1988 . The owner of the ' property called me in Ueecember of 198H and stated that he was � going ro repair the hnune .
