EIfERETT <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 4387 <br /> A RESOLUTION for the sole source purchase from Heartstream Inc. for Forerunner semi- <br /> automatic defibrillators for the City of Everett Fire Department and to waive the public bidding <br /> requirements. <br /> WHEREAS, the Fire Department anticipates purchasing eight (8) Heartstream Forerunner semi- <br /> automatic advisory defibrillators and supporting equipment; and <br /> WHEREAS, the equipment used to perform this procedure is specialized equipment intended for <br /> a specialized application; and <br /> WHEREAS, Heartstream Forerunner semi-automatic defibrillators represent the state of the art <br /> in this field by the utilization of low energy biphasic defibrillation waveforms and has <br /> demonstrated ruggedness and dependability of the highest level; and <br /> WHEREAS, Heartstream, Inc. of Seattle, Washington is the only company that utilizes the low <br /> energy biphasic defibrillation waveforms as required for use by the Everett Fire Department for <br /> purchase of new semiautomatic defibrillators and meets the Everett Fire Department's high <br /> standards for workmanship and support specifications for needs for semi-automatic defibrillators; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Heartstream is the only authorized distributor of the Heartstream Forerunner. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> EVERETT that the Fire Department is authorized to sole source purchase the semi-automatic <br /> advisory defibrillators and supporting equipment. <br /> Councilperson Introduci• • Resolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this 19th day of February , 1997. <br /> Ze(1.i.,,, <br /> attekid(A*_ <br /> T <br /> Council President <br />
