Gary 0' Leary at the subject project on March l <br /> 17, 1982. The purpose of our consultation was to evaluate the near � <br /> surface soil conditi.ons in order to develop recommendations Eor � <br /> building support and crawlspace dewatering. To explore the subsur- <br /> face conditions, three test pits were excavated adjacent to building <br /> corners. � <br /> The pr000sed structure is located north of 13th Street on the <br /> property of Jensen and Reynolds. This area is on the waterfront of I <br /> Everett, S�ashington and is an older hydraulic fill area. Aerial <br /> photographs from 1970 indicate the fill was placed before 1970. <br /> Numerous structures and other developments were present in the Eilled <br /> area at that time. The topoqraphy on the filled area, including the <br /> subject site, is nearly Elat al an elevation near that of 13th <br /> Street. <br /> At the time of our site visit, the building area had been <br /> excavated to approximakely eighteen (18) inches below existinq grade. <br /> The footings had bee;i formed and the steel had been Flaced at the <br /> time of our site visit. Up to nine inches of standing water was <br /> present in the footings excavation. <br /> The three test pits, all excavated to approximately six feet <br /> below the bottom of the foot?ngs, encountered relatively clean, <br /> medium dense, fine sands with shell frayments. The test pit <br /> excavated adjacent to the northwest building cocner encountered __ <br /> �_ moderate groundwater seepage from three feet beloH, the footing <br /> I � <br /> — � <br /> � <br /> , <br /> k_. _, —_ � � . <br />
