. 4 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 4 3 4 5 <br /> A RESOLUTION requesting a Snohomish County Conservation Futures application. <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett wishes to acquire and preserve sensitive urban open <br /> space along the east side of Silver Lake, and <br /> WHEREAS, roperty is available along the east side of the lake, and <br /> WHEREAS, the present land along the east side of the lake is owned by various private <br /> landowners, and <br /> WHEREAS, funds are available as a result of the State of Washington giving counties the <br /> authority to levy up to six and one-quarter cents per thousand dollars on all taxable <br /> property within the county for the purpose of acquiring conservation futures (RCW <br /> 84.34.230), and <br /> WHEREAS, Snohomish County took advantage of this opportunity to assist in the <br /> acquisition of open space by levying the tax and setting up two advisory committees to <br /> recommend policies, evaluate proposals, and make recommendations to the Snohomish <br /> County Council regarding funding priorities (SCC 4.14). <br /> THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> EVERETT authorize Mayor Edward D.
