RESOLUTION NO. 6870 <br />A RESOLUTION authorizing recovery of abatement costs <br />pursuant to EMC 1.20.090 at 2018 Chestnut Street, Everett, Washington. <br />WHEREAS, the Everett Municipal Code (the "EMC") Section 1.20.090 authorizes the <br />City to abate code violations and recover the abatement costs; and <br />WHEREAS, the City had previously required William D. Jung (the "Owner") to secure <br />the structure at 2018 Chestnut Street (the "Property") from trespass, parcel number <br />00563241202400, and abbreviated legal description: <br />ST NICHOLAS ADD BLK 412 D-00 - S l OFT OF LOT 24 ALL LOT 25 & N 5FT OFLOT 26 <br />WHEREAS, the Owner did not secure the Property and on April 4, 2015, the Owner <br />signed a Request for Abatement, Right of Entry and Waiver and Release authorizing the City to <br />secure the structure on the property at his cost; and <br />WHEREAS, the City, through a contractor, secured the structure from trespass on April <br />20, 2015; and <br />WHEREAS, the City incurred costs in the amount of $819.00 in its boarding and <br />securing the primary structure; and <br />WHEREAS, the City provided notice to the Owner explaining that the City lawfully <br />abated code violations on the Property by securing the structure, and that those costs together <br />may become a lien against the property if the Owner failed to reimburse the City the abatement <br />costs; and <br />WHEREAS, the Owner has failed to timely pay the abatement costs; and <br />WHEREAS, notice of Council's consideration of this Resolution was provided to the <br />Owner; <br />
