During such an event, the system reaches capacity. During diese
"events", the City cannot accept additional water. At umes when pcip:tauon is less than
an event, the City has excess capacity and is able to accept addiuonal water into the system
without overloading the system.
$Satistics:
. Arca to Drain: 20,000 square feet (approx.)
. Maaimum Event 2" rain in 24 hours
. Water Created During an Event 26,000 gallons
Pro.posal Specifics:
FBS will buiy a properly sized tank and create an above ground retenuon area("retendon
system") to retain storm water such that during an event a limit switch will automatically
stop the outflow of water from our retention system. This will assure that no storm water
will enter the Ciry systcm during an event. As an example, given the above assumptions,
FBS will bury a 5,000 galon tank and create a 26,000 gallon above ground pond. 'fhis
will allow for a 20% safet,r factor while meeung the requirement for no added water to the
systcm during an evenG
The retenuon system will be professionally eegineercd to meet Ciry reyuirements. The
attachment is a rough draft drawing meant to i;lustrate how the retenuon system will work.
8 May 1997
MARINE REPAIR, CONSTRUCTION,CONVERSIOM 8 MAINTENANCE IN STEEL.
