<br /> We are transmitting supplemental inform�tion regarding the treatment shed design
<br /> criteria for the subject project. The treatment shed will Ue one story, 800 square foot floor ama, ,
<br /> Type II-N metal construction, with Group B occupancy classification. Per SecHon 503.4.2 of tltc
<br /> 1994 Uniform Building Code (UBC), a fim-resistive exterior wall is not required provided that
<br /> the wall is located not Icss than 5 feet from a property line The existing building ro the east of
<br /> the planned tre�tment shed is also Type II-N metal construction,and is used for steel faUricaHon
<br /> (occupancy classification Group P, Division 2). Them are no openings in the walls of either the
<br /> existing Uuilding or the heatment slted where they are adjacent ro each oH1er. Per TaUle 5-A of
<br /> the 1994 UBC, a fire-msistive exterior wall is not required if the wall of an adjacent Uuilding is
<br /> located not less than 5 feet from a properry line. The Port of Everett owns Uoth the Uoat wash
<br /> properry and the property to the east, so an assumed property line would Ue located Uehveen
<br /> the Uuildings. The design calls fer a 15 ft distance between the boat wash treatment shed and
<br /> the existing Uuilding to the east. Consequently, our interpre6ition is that Uoth Uuild.ings meet
<br /> the minimum distance requirements,and do not requirz fire-resisHve c✓alls. We request that you
<br /> rescind the requirement for a 1-hour fire wall on the treatment shed, and provide in writing a
<br /> modification of your notation on the Uuilding plan set to this effect.
