' <br /> 'j PROJECT: 38 unit , subsidized , elderly and handicapped I <br /> apartment building consisting of 9 studio or <br /> efficiency units , 4 handicapped units , 24 one ' <br /> bedroom units and one unit for the on-site � <br /> manager . <br /> These apartments are designed for independent <br /> living and there is NO congregate dining room I <br /> or nursing carz available. <br /> IT IS IMPOR"fANT TO NOTE that the HUD Section 202 <br /> Program requires the entire building be reserved , <br /> fior use exclusively by the elder•ly and handicapped <br /> for the entire 40 year term of the mortgage. <br /> FUNDING SOURCE: Department of Housing and Urban Development , <br /> Section 202 program which provides both the <br /> mortgage fiunds and a twenty year subsidy guarantee. <br /> The Section 202 program is designed for use <br /> exclusively by PRIVATE, NON-PROFIT CORPORATIONS <br /> (see attached page 2-1 of the HUD 4571 . 1 REV-2 <br /> regulations regard9ng eligibility criteria) . <br /> FUNDING PROCESS: The Section 202 funding process involves a <br /> statewide competition and proJect applications are <br /> rated and ranked according to the sponsor 's <br /> capacity to provide support to the pro,ject and also <br /> on community need for such a proJect . <br /> Senior Services application was submitted on <br /> June 1 , 1987 and awarded on September 30 , 1987 . <br /> IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT TNIS PROJECT IS <br /> FULLY FUNDED and that The Department of Housing and <br /> Urban Development currently has a fund reservation <br /> set aside for this pro,Ject not to exceed $1 . 7 <br /> million . <br />
