MAINTENAlO�CE Ai�ID OPERATIONS REQUIREIVIENTS <br />rncr-. zi <br />EROSION CONTROL NIAINTENANCE <br />[rosion an� sedimentation control facilities shall bc inspected at regular intervals for damage and <br />sediment accumulation. At a minimum, the facilities shall be inspected weekly and after any <br />runoff-producing rain cvent or daily during prolongcd rainfall. Routine inspections shall takc <br />place at the end of each work week and any needed repairs be completed bcfore the job is shut <br />down fur the wcekend. Repairs to TESC mcasures damaged by srorm events shall take plaa; <br />prior to othcr site work. TESC inspections shall wntinue at these intervals during periods of <br />work stoppages or until permancnt cover has becn established. <br />I. Filter Fabric Pencing: Scdiment should bc rcmo��ed whcn it reaches 1/3 the hcight of thc <br />fencc. <br />2. Storm Drainage Inlet Protection: Itemove and replauc clogged filicr fabric �viUiout allo���ing <br />sediment to enter the storm drainagc system. <br />3. Drainagc Swales: Remove sedintent accumulations when they have reached 6" in depdi or <br />I/2 the dcpth of tlie channcl, which ever is smaller. <br />4. Straw Bale C7ieckdams: If necessary strawbalc check dams �vill be uscd on this site. Inspect <br />dicckdams after each storni and daily during continuing stonn events for damage to dte stra�v <br />bales, undcrcutting an� overtopping. Repair any dcficiei�cies immediatcly. Remove sediment <br />accumulations before iliey reach 1l2 the hciblit of the straw bale. <br />STORDI DRAIN SYSTEM b'IAINTENANCE <br />Catch basins should be inspected annually and cicancd as nccessary including rcmoval of <br />sediment buildup when ii rcaches a depth of 1/2 of the sump depth. <br />'Che pavecl are�s should be periodically swept to rcmove sediment and debris. <br />Afier construction has becn completed and the site is stabilized there sliould bc a minimal <br />amount of maintcnance rcquired for thc detention facility. The catch basin sumps will remove <br />most dcbris beforc it cntcrs thc vault. However periodic inspection of dle vault for debris or <br />sediment build up ���ould bc rccommended.
