Typically there are two
seasons within a calendar year. Customer demand for the program may support a third season of league play
in 2009. If there is a third season, program marginal revenue will exceed program marginal costs, including
the additional umpiring cost. The"not to exceed amount" of this professional service agreement is estimated
to be $62,000. The program's 2009 budget assumes a third season of play.
The Washington State Softball Umpires Association has provided umpire services for many years for the
department's softball program. Revenue for the City's softball program is projected to be$155,000 in 2009
(two seasons only).
RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize the Mayor to sign a Professional Services Agreement with the Washington State Softball Umpires
Association for Everett Parks and Recreation Softball Program Umpire Services in an amount not to $62,000.
2_„9
