Expenditure Required $0 Amount Budgeted $0 Additional Required $0 DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: In accordance with Ordinance 1183-85, the Seattle Outboard Association submitted a formal application to hold its 2009 Boating Regatta on Silver Lake. The event will be held on May 30, 2009, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Seattle Outboard Association's Regatta has been annually held on Silver Lake since 1954. The Parks Board of Commissioners held a public hearing at its March 10, 2009, meeting for this year's proposed regatta. The City Council has historically approved the Association's request to hold this event on Silver Lake. This is the only event of this type held at Silver Lake during the year. The Parks Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to recommend to Council that the Seattle Outboard Association's application to hold its annual Boating Regatta on Silver Lake on May 30, 2009,be approved. RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Approve the Seattle Outboard Association's application to hold the 2009 Boating Regatta on Silver Lake on May 30, 2009.
