Park Staff manage and operate the Camp Patterson day
camp program. DSHS assists in funding registrations fees for eligible participants. The attached Interlocal
Agreement is for participant registration fee reimbursement from the Individual and Family Services
Program(IFS)fund. In previous years the City has not had access to this funding source to recover
registration fees for eligible participants.
The attached Agreement is required to be signed to enable DSHS to reimburse the City for participant
registration fees from the IFS fund. This Agreement will continue the partnership through June 30, 2011.
City Council authorized the Mayor to sign an Agency Respite Care Agreement with DSHS on July 16,2008.
Both the Agency Respite Care Agreement approved on July 16, 2008 and the attached Agreement are
necessary to enable DSHS to access the two separate funding sources to reimburse Parks for participant
registration fees. Some participants are eligible for the Agency Respite Care funding and other participants
are eligible for the IFS funding.
RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign the Interlocal
Agreement between the City of Everett and the State of Washington Department of Social and Health
Services (DSHS) for reimbursement of certain recreational program registration fees.
7
S:\NCommon\AdministratioriCOUNCIL\2009\CS DSHS Rec AgreementlFS2009-20I I.doc
