Staff anticipates significant reductions in right-angle <br /> crashes and resulting injuries as a result from implementing the program. <br /> Based on the review of the systems from the available vendors by Police and Engineering,Advanced Traffic <br /> Solutions, of Scottsdale Arizona has been selected. The City of Everett has an Interlocal Purchasing <br /> Agreement with the City of Seattle that allows Everett to contract directly with ATS on terms similar to the <br /> agreement with Seattle based on their extensive RFP selection process. <br /> The agreement provides for an initial implementation of six intersection approaches and one fixed site school <br /> zone speed camera. The agreement fixes costs for the program for five years plus renewal options. <br /> Revenues received from the implementation of the automated Traffic Safety cameras, in accordance with <br /> Ordinance No. 3106-08, are to be used solely to cover the expense of the program and for traffic safety <br /> purposes. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign an agreement with American Traffic Solutions(ATS) for implementation and <br /> operation of an automated traffic safety camera system. <br /> 13 <br />
