In general these services include design development, public involvement, <br /> construction plan development, detailed cost estimation and assistance with the construction bid/construction <br /> management process. Prior to the suspension of design in the summer of 2008, the public involvement <br /> program was completed which helped shape the design development task. Re-initiation of design will start <br /> with staff and consultant effort to complete design development and then move into the development of more <br /> detailed cost estimates and construction documents. <br /> Given the anticipated schedule for the remaining design tasks and subsequent construction of the project, <br /> amendment number two extends the time of performance (at no cost) of the Nakano Associates professional <br /> services agreement to December 31, 2011. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign Amendment Two <br /> to the Professional Services Agreement with Nakano Associates for design of the Downtown Plaza at the <br /> Everett Performing Arts Center. <br /> 31 <br />
