Expenditure Required $ -0- Account Number(s): Amount Budgeted $ -0- Additional Required $ -0- DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: The 2009 State Legislature amended the Unlawful Bus Conduct legislation (RCW 9.91.025) to expand the list of prohibited conduct at transit facilities or on transit vehicles. The list now includes, among other things, possessing or tendering unused media fare, falsely claiming to be a transit official or employee, gambling, roller skating and skate boarding and engaging in conduct that is inconsistent with the intended use and purpose of the transit facility, station or vehicle and refusing to obey the commands of an agent of the transit authority or peace officer to stop the conduct. A violation of the State law is a misdemeanor offense. The proposed amendments to the City's regulations concerning conduct at transit facilities or on transit vehicles (Chapter 10.49 EMC) track state law and also include a provision requiring an individual to truthfully identify himself or herself when a transit official issues the individual a notice of exclusion pursuant to the City's policies and procedures for excluding a person from City property.
