The grant, <br /> in the amount of$93,539.00,has been awarded with no matching fund requirement. <br /> The grant funds will provide for the following: a forensic alternate light source; lighting and sight improvements for <br /> patrol long guns and Tactical Unit rifles; Tactical Unit communications upgrade; laptop computer and digital media <br /> projector; SCUBA equipment; personal flotation devices; ballistic-grade helmets for Special Operations Group; and <br /> South Precinct classroom multimedia presentation equipment improvements. <br /> The grant program period is October 1,2009—September 30, 2012. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign the necessary documents to accept the 2009 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice <br /> Assistance Grant award in the amount of$93,539. <br /> 103 <br />
