Structural Design Associates <br /> w Engineerirng Structures to Last <br /> SDA 48849 <br /> Oct. 31, 2019 <br /> Attn: John An <br /> Subject: Welcome Everett Inn Post Connections <br /> Subject Address: 1205 Broadway Everett, WA 98201 <br /> SDA Ref. #8849 <br /> To whom this may concern: <br /> The existing walkway at the Welcome Everett Inn are supported with 8x8 DF1 posts and a ledger. <br /> The client has reported rot damage to these posts and has expressed interest in removing the <br /> damaged posts and reinstating new posts, The client has requested this office review the walkway <br /> to post connection and guardrail to post connection. <br /> The details attached to this letter outline the post connection requirements. The load is based on <br /> the 2015 IBC. The review and design information provided in this letter is limited to the walkway <br /> framing to post connection and guardrail to post connection only. All other connections, lateral <br /> restraint, and gravity restraint is by others. Proper lateral connections between the walkway and <br /> building shall be provided and is the responsibility of others. <br /> The contractor is responsible for identifying all rot damage. Shoring and the construction <br /> sequence is the responsibility of the contractor. Any deviations from the conditions described <br /> above shall be reported to the engineer.
