Meg Haley
From: Meg Haley
Sent: Thursday, November 29, 2012 2:45 PM
To: 'wendywoodard@>,hotmail.com'; 'robinmariew@gmail.com'
Cc: Paul McKee; Jeff Heilman; Tony Lee
Subject: 215 Dorn Ave: Next Steps for Permit Review
Wendy and Robin,
Thanks for coming in yesterday. It did make it easier to discuss things in person. I hope that you are both
still comfortable with your final decision to retain and restore the single family structure per current code. It is
easier to restore a house than it is to try 1=0 change the building type to a commercial structure.
We have changed our internal records and files accordingly to correspond to your decision.
Here are a couple tips to move forwgird quickly:
1. Drawings should show how work done without permits will be rebuilt, so that the revisions meet
minimum current code requirements for a single family residence.
a. New work should be shown as dark lines, demolition as dashed, and existing to remain as light
lines.
b. We recommend the services of a design professional to expedite the review process.
2. Since the application for a commercial center child care certificate of occupancy does not apply to this
building, please bring a new permit application to the front counter for processing when you are ready
to drop off two sets of plans for review.
a. The new permit number is now CW1211-003.
b. Here is a link to a permit application that you can print and fill out:
http://www.everettwa.orq,'Get PDF.aspx?pdfID=34
3. The payment of $54.50 made at t-ie time of original application has been transferred to this new
permit.
a. There will be additional plan review fees.
To submit your revised application, please bring 3 copies of the site plan, 2 sets of construction drawings, and
a completed application to submit for the required permits. For questions about fees, please contact the
permit technicians at 425-257-8810. For questions about information required in the construction drawings,
you can contact Jeff Heilman at 425-257-8976, or by email: iheilman@ci.everett.wa.us
Best,
Meg
Meg Haley, NCARB
Commercial Plans Examiner
Everett Public Works/Buiidino Department
3200 Cedar St
Everett,WA 98201
T 425.257.8813
F 425.257.8856
1
