CITY OF EVERETT, WASHINGTON <br /> SPECIFICATIONS FOR <br /> WFP OPERATIONS BUILDING SEISMIC RETROFIT RE-BID <br /> WO NO. - UP3600 <br /> NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS <br /> ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS <br /> Notice is hereby given that sealed bids for the WFP Operations Building Seismic Retrofit Re-Bid will be received at the <br /> office of the City Clerk, 151 Floor Wall Street Building, 2930 Wetmore, Everett, Washington 98201, until 2:00 p.m. <br /> on Tuesday, January 31, 2017. At the appointed time, all bids will be opened and publicly read aloud in the 8th floor <br /> hearing room at the Wall Street Building. The engineer's estimate for this Project is$900,000. <br /> THIS CONTRACT IS A FEDERAL AID PROJECT AND IS SUBJECT TO THE DAVIS-BACON ACT AND <br /> RCW 39.12. WHEN THE DAVIS-BACON AND RCW 39.12 RATES DIFFER FOR SIMILAR KINDS OF <br /> LABOR, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT PAY LESS THAN THE HIGHER RATE UNLESS THE STATE <br /> RATES ARE SPECIFICALLY PREEMPTED BY FEDERAL LAW. <br /> This project provides a voluntary seismic retrofit of the City of Everett's WFP Operations Building at the Chaplain <br /> Reservoir near Monroe, Washington. The voluntary seismic retrofit is limited primarily to the original 1980s portion of the <br /> WFP Operations Building and includes both structural and nonstructural measures for this facility. The stair tower structure <br /> at the southwest comer and office addition at the southeast portion of the Operations Building are separate structures that <br /> were added in the 1990s and are not included in this retrofit. Retrofit measures are indicated on the project drawings and <br /> described in further detail in Section 011100—Summary of Work <br /> Owner will conduct a mandatory Prebid meeting starting at 10:30 am,January 19,2017 at WFP Operations Building, 6133 <br /> Lake Chaplain Road, Monroe, WA 98272 for Bidders that did not attend and sign in to the October 19, 2016 Mandatory <br /> Prebid Meeting. More information can be found in Document 002513—Prebid Meetings of the Project Manual. <br /> Plans, Specifications, Addenda, and plan holders list for this Project may be viewed on line <br /> at https://everettwa.gov/319/Bid-Opportunities. <br /> Plan sets may also be purchased at Bill's Blueprints(425)259-0859 at 2920 Rockefeller Avenue,Everett, WA 98201. <br /> For technical questions regarding this Project email Richard Hefti P.E., Project Manager, City of Everett, <br /> at rhefti@everettwa.gov. <br /> All bids must be made upon the regular forms provided for this purpose and must be accompanied by a bid bond or <br /> certified check in an amount not less than five percent(5%)of the total amount of the Bid. <br /> The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities. No Bidder may <br /> withdraw his Bid after the hour set for the opening thereof. The City further reserves the right to make the bid award as <br /> deemed in the best interest of the City.
