On behalf of the Evertt
Police Department and Everett Fire Deparfiment, I wanted tio provide you with some information alout
what those building numbers mean in terms af an ernergency eesponse to youiaddress, ,
There are 18 difFerent biildings in the Towns at S'tiver Lake development. Those buildings have a
number of different street names in Yhe address depending on where the builcling is located within the ?
complex. The street names are 112"' PL SE, 113"'PI SE, 19`'Drive SE,or 20th Drive SE. ;
Every resiclence in a building has a unique house number. That number,when combined with the street
name, represents a unique acldress in the complex. For example there are two addresses that have the
same hause number, brt they are unique because of the different street name(1920 113`'PL SE and
1920112`h PL SE).
;
Currenfily there are na building numbers. Residences are identified on(y by the house number and the
street addrEss. In the near future all of the buildings will be assigned a building number from 1 to1II and ;
the building number will be prominently displayed. These buildinb numbers wil!ail be associated with
the administrative/affice address of 11219 39th Ave SE(example:11219 19`h Ave SE Building 7j. The
reason for fihe building numbers is that each building shares a single water meter,and our Public Works !

department needs a way of relating the meters to a specific 6uilding for billing purposes. ',
' 1
It is imortant for you to understand that those building numbers are only for utility billinand not for '
emergency response. When you make a call to 911 the operator will ask for your address, and he or she ' ;
• will then"validate"that address against our address database to malce sure we are respondinto the 3
' correct location. That database does not and will not reference the building numEers. j
Also, if you are calling from a traditional lartd based phone,in many cases the 911 Computer system will ',
display the address the call is coming from and the operator will confirm that address with the caller. ',
Again,the computer system will not show a building number. If you prouide a buiiding number instead ;
of the actual residential address,this could delay a validatian of your address and delay an erriergency I
, response.
In order to avoid confusion and create.a delay, I am asl<ing all residents to remember that when you call
911 and you are asl<ed for an address, please provide the street address and do not use building
numbers. Please Iceep in mind that building numbers are for utility building purposes and not
emergency response.
You are welcome to use building numbers to help describe where an event is occiirring,for example if
you ca11 to report a medical emergency an the ball couit you would first canFum tle address you are
' calling from using the correct street address(example,1901112`'PL SE) and then gfve the location the '
', incident is occurring at(the ball court between fuifd'rngs 7.0 and 11). In that case the buiiding number
CITY OF EVERETT  3002 Wetmore Ave. ^ Everett, WA 98201 • (425) 257-8400 • FAX (425) 257-6500
ii
