620 SE Et'ERET 1`MALI. WAY vim. r EVERETT, WA 98208 425-212-2260
A\
/ kk
We are not asking for you to consider a zero tax like what the Tribal Casino's enjoy, we are asking for you to
consider a fairer tax based on a an adjusted gross revenue that will allow us to survive. We do owe the City of
Everett for gambling taxes we have been unable to pay and we ask that you consider making this new tax rate
retroactive, and apply the new rate to the back taxes we owe and allow us to make payments of an amount that
is manageable. Please remember, we are not asking for this new rate for personal gain, but rather we ask you to
consider the economic future of the 120 employees and their family's that we support. We will not be able to
continue, unless there is a change to the current tax structure that is imposed only on our type of business and
only on non-tribal casinos. Time is of the essence here, our back is against the wall and without this change we
will have to close our business within the next few weeks and our 120 employees and the families they support
will be without the paycheck we give them and we will be adding 120 more people to the unemployment rolls.
With this change, you will foster success rather than hinder success.
Since we opened our doors,we have lost a million dollars a year in this location. Meanwhile the tribal casinos
have made$5-7 hundred million in revenue. This playing field is wholly unleveled and needs to be given much
thought, with an eye towards what is fair and equal.
We are currently in one of the worst economic times in our country and it is not in anyone's best interest to have
a government that is a hindrance to business. We now have an opportunity to change things for the better.
We would Iike to open our financial records to you in an effort to help you understand the economics of our
industry.
Attached is our proposal that should provide the businesses of our industry, located in Our town to thrive and be
good citizens.
Thank you for your consideration and time. We look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Anthony Marson
President
Fair Deal Inc. dba The Club Casino
attachment
