With this funding,the <br /> City will continue to provide waste reduction,recycling and composting information and assistance to City <br /> businesses, multi-family properties, schools and city residents with the goal of increasing recycling and <br /> composting participation and tonnage diversion from the landfill. <br /> The total grant amount is $141,596, allocated in a multi-phase agreement. Phase One is for$86,798 and <br /> begins January 1, 2010. Ecology will provide$65,098 and the City will provide $21,700. <br /> Phase Two funds,totaling $54,798, become available per budget appropriation from Washington State <br /> Legislature on January 1, 2011. Ecology will provide $41,098 and the City will provide $13,699. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign the Coordinated Prevention Grant Agreement between the State of Washington <br /> Department of Ecology and the City of Everett in theount of$86,798. <br />
