001111p <br /> EVERETT <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 4072 <br /> A resolution for waiving the public bidding requirements and for the sole source purchase <br /> from Ameritech Library Services for Software and Hardware Maintenance for the City's <br /> Library Automated System. <br /> Whereas, The Public Library requires computer software and hardware maintenance for their <br /> Automated Library System; and <br /> Whereas, Ameritech Library Services (formerly The Dynix Corporation) is the software <br /> licensee for the Library Automated System and sole distributor for software maintenance on <br /> their products; and <br /> Whereas, Ameritech Library Services is agent for Ultimate Computer Corporation; and <br /> Whereas, Ultimate Computer Corporation is the manufacturer of the Library Automated <br /> System hardware which uses Ultimate's exclusive operating system; and <br /> Whereas, Ultimate Computer Corporation is the operating system software licensee and sole <br /> distributor for software and hardware maintenance on their products; and <br /> Whereas, funds are available in our current year budget, <br /> Now, therefore, be is resolved by the City Council of the City of Everett that the purchase of <br /> hardware and software maintenance for the Automated Library System is clearly and <br /> legitimately limited to a single source, Ameritech Library Services and that the Purchasing <br /> Division is authorized to purchase software and hardware maintenance as long as we have the <br /> system.
