M'P <br /> r n Ek?ETT <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 4/°13 <br /> A RESOLUTION relating to curfew regulations for minors, extending the <br /> effective period of time for Ordinance No. 2001-94 to October 31, 1995. <br /> WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2001-94 was passed on April 27, 1994, with an expiration <br /> date of October 31, 1994, unless extended by resolution to a date certain; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has heard testimony from the Everett Police Department, <br /> members of the public and the downtown business community, concerning the need to <br /> continue to have effective tools to protect minors from the dangers and temptations that <br /> exist in public places late at night in the Central Business District. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that a juvenile curfew and parental responsibility <br /> ordinance will continue to preserve the public safety and reduce acts of violence by and <br /> against juveniles that are occurring at rates beyond the capacity of the police to assure <br /> public safety; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that reasonable regulations on the hours which <br /> minors under the age of eighteen may be in or upon public streets, parks or other <br /> public places will continue to protect the minors of this municipality, and continue to <br /> reinforce parental responsibility and authority; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> EVERETT: <br /> Section 1: Pursuant to section 11 of Ordinance No. 2001-94, the effective period of <br /> time for Ordinance No. 2001-94, relating to curfew regulations for minors, is hereby <br /> extended to October 31, 1995. <br /> G Councilperson Introducing Resolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this /7 day of October, 1994. <br /> Council President 7' <br /> C\WINWORD\CURFEW\CURFW941.DOC <br />
