RESOLUTION No. 0/GO/, ' <br /> A RESOLUTION declaring an emergency to exist and authorizing the removal of <br /> hazardous trees at Thornton A. Sullivan Park. <br /> WHEREAS, there are a number of trees within Thornton A. Sullivan Park that are <br /> diseased with root rot, and <br /> WHEREAS, these trees create a potential danger to persons and property within <br /> Thornton A. Sullivan Park and adjacent properties, and <br /> WHEREAS, it is necessary to have trees removed before we encounter heavy winds, <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, removal of said trees is of sufficient quantity to warrant sale of the timber <br /> to recover the costs of the removal action, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Tree Policy permits removal of hazardous trees when it threatens <br /> people and property, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Tree Committee and the Board of Park Commissioners have been <br /> informed of the need for the tree removal, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> EVERETT that an emergency exists and that the Mayor is hereby authorized to take <br /> appropriate action, including contracting, to provide for the removal of said trees. <br /> • <br /> Councilperson Introducing Resolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this /7 avqday o . ,,.`•i , 1994. <br /> Council President <br /> W:WDMIN\COUNCIL\R941017.DOC by BFD <br />
