1:V <br /> LERETT <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 3928 <br /> A RESOLUTION in support of Proposition No. 1 <br /> (Everett School District and Operation Levy) <br /> on the Special Election Ballot of April 19 , <br /> 1994, levying taxes for Everett School <br /> District maintenance and operation. <br /> WHEREAS, a dynamic, reasonably funded, stable school system <br /> is one of the hallmarks of a strong community; and <br /> WHEREAS, the cultural , social and economic life of a city is <br /> critically linked to the quality of education; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett is fortunate to have excellent <br /> schools to serve its citizens and has benefited from the fine <br /> reputation of the Everett School District; and <br /> WHEREAS, while the State of Washington provides most of the <br /> dollars for public schools, our schools depend on assistance <br /> from their local communities to provide a well rounded <br /> program for every student; and <br /> WHEREAS, we are asked every two years to do our share in <br /> support of our local schools through approval of the <br /> maintenance and operations levy - a measure which provides a <br /> significant portion of the district's budget; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF EVERETT supports the Everett School District in its <br /> efforts to improve the quality of education for students and <br /> the quality of life for all of us and urges all citizens to <br /> vote YES on April 19, 1994 , for the special school levy. <br /> /41.-- <br /> Councilpe son Introducing Resolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this 30t4 day of March , 1994. <br /> Council President <br /> levy.ord.taq <br />
