July 8, 2015 <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br />6:30 p.m., July 8, 2015, in the City Council Chambers of the William E. <br />Moore Historic City Hall, Council President Bader presiding. Upon roll call <br />it was found that Mayor Stephanson and Council Members Roberts, <br />Moore, Murphy, Bader, Stonecipher, and Tuohy were present. Council <br />Member Gipson was excused. <br />Council Member Stonecipher led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the July 1, 2015, City Council meeting were approved as <br />printed. Council Member Stonecipher abstained from the vote. <br />President Bader announced that the Streets Initiative Update briefing item <br />had been moved to the end of tonight's agenda. <br />MAYOR <br />Mayor Stephanson complimented and thanked all City staff for an <br />outstanding job in coordinating the 4th of July activities this year. He noted <br />that the sponsor's contributions covered all of the costs of the events this <br />year. The Mayor also provided a legislative update. <br />COUNCIL <br />The Council Members commented on the success of the 4th of July events <br />and thanked Cultural Arts Manager Carol Thomas, City staff, and many <br />volunteers. <br />Council Member Tuohy announced that her son, who is in the U. S. Army <br />Reserves, was promoted to the rank of Captain today. <br />Council member Bader thanked the Everett Police Department for <br />excellent enforcement over the weekend related to fireworks. <br />203 <br />
