ENERGIf� CODE NOTES <br />1. CODE: Washington State Energy Code, 1993 edition, and Washington <br />State V�sntilation and Indoor Air �uality Code, 1993 editlon. <br />2. Heating system to be forced air gas furnace. <br />3. Compliance mothod to be Chapter 4 Systems Analysis. Compliance <br />documented with WATTSUN 5.4. See accompanying read out and <br />documentation. <br />a. All glazing to be Vinyl Dbl glazed with clear glazing. Manufacturer to <br />be Eiest Built Inc. <br />b. Doors to have default U values as shown. Default values taken from <br />tables 10-6C & 10-60. <br />c. Celling insulation: R-30 in vented attic. <br />d. Exterior walls: R-11 <br />e. Floors above unheated spacos: R-19 <br />4. Duct construction and insulation shall be per Sec. 503.10. Duct insulatlon <br />shall be per Table 5-11. <br />5. P(ping insulation shall be per Sec. 503.11 <br />6. Equip shower heads and faucets with ilow control devices to Iimit flow rate <br />to max(mum 3 gallons per minute. <br />7. Water heatera in unheated spaces shall be placed on incompressible l�-10 <br />insulated surface, and shall meet the requiremdnts of the 198; National <br />Applfance Fnergy Conservation Act and shall be so labeled. <br />8. Ground cover: 6 mil polyethylene below slabs and in crawl space. Joints <br />shall be overlapped 12" and shall eMend to top oi foundation wali. <br />9. All eMerlor joints around windows and door irames, connections between <br />walls and roundatlon, extarior utility penetratlons and all other such <br />openings to be caulked , sealed, gasketed or weather-stripped. <br />10. In attics, provide baffles at all eave vents. Taper or compress fnsulation to <br />fit. Baffle fo extend 6" above batt Insulatlon and 12" above blown-in <br />insulation. <br />11. Seal tears a�d Joints in facing of batt insulation with tape. <br />12. Whole house exhaust fan sfzing to be per table 3-2 of the Washington <br />State Ventilation and Indoor A(r Duality Code. <br />13. Exhaust duct sizing to be per t�ble 3-3 of the Washington State Ventilation <br />and Indoor Air Ouality Code. <br />14. Fresh air ventilation system to Ue integrated system connected to whole <br />house fan and timer. System to include 6" dia. fresh air duct from ci.tside to <br />return alr plenum of forced air furnace with motorized damper and flow <br />control damper set to allow 0.35 - 0.50 air changes per hour. System to be <br />tested prior to final inspection with a letter certifying compliance. A sticker <br />specifying ach and cfm requirements to be placed on duct in proximfty to <br />the flow damper. <br />
