PLANN//VG AND
COAlilf!/N/TY DEL/E[OPMENT
Curt Johnson
3425 - 96th Place S.E.
Everett, WA 98208
October q,1996
RE: Installation of Power Pole at Property on 112th Street S.E.
Dear Mr. Johnson,
Paul A. Roberfs
Oirecfor
We have been advised by the Public Works Inspector that a PUD power pole has been installed on the
property frontage on e lot leated on the south side of 112th Street at the intersection of 1 st Avenue
S.E. No permit wns issued by the City for the power pole.
You have applied for a short subdivision of Lot 41 in ehe plat of Silver Acres. EMC Chapter 18.24.210
requires undergrowding of new electrical services for lots created through the subdivision process.
The City will not issue a permit for a power pole at this location for the following reasons:
There are two pending short subdivision applications thet will require undergrounding of new
utility services. Installation of a power pole is not consistent with EMC Chapter 18.24.210
because it would provide above-ground service to the lots in the subdivisions (SS #31-98, SS
#32-98).
2. The location of the power pole is in conflict with planned strect improvements for 112th Street.
The City would incur additional costs by having to relocate the power pole in conjunction with
the street improvement project.
The subject power pole must be removed prior to issuance of a preliminery decision for either short
subdivision. Failure to remove the power pole will result in a violation and will constitute grounds for
an enCorcement action b the City.
Please ca:l Gordon Witcher, at (425) 257-8810, or me at (425) 257-8731 if you have any questions.
Sinccrely, ,
--(^ %,'- N
David Tyler, Associate Planner
cc: Mark Selby
Gordon Witcher.
