PUBL/C fVO?/C5
December 2H, 2006
Bradley Naylor
10121 Evergreen Way
Everett WA 98204
Re: Connection to Available Public Sewer — 4? 12th St SE
This letter is to inform you that a reviaw of our records indicates that your property
may not be connected to the public sPver system The Everett Municipal Code
requires that all property owners within 150 feet or adjacent to a public sanitary
seroer shall connect their private sewer system to the public sewer after being
notified by the Public Works Department.
Our records also indicate that your property is adjacent to, or is within 150 feet of an
existing public sanitary sewer. I have enclosed an excerpt from our sanitary sewer
chart indicatin the proximity of your property to a public sanitary sewer system. Any
costs to connect, including construction and mon?hly sewer cliarges, is to be borne
by the property owner.
If you believe that your residence or business is crrently connected to the City's
sever main, please contact the City of Everett Public Works Department at 425-257-
8800 so we can update our records.
A sewer permit and application issued by the City and signed by an inspector is one
viable means of proof. Another alternative to prove the structure is connected to the
sewer system is to allow the City of Everett to perform a dye test. A dye test requires
the owner's permission and the resident's notification to allow a city employee to
enfer tlie premises and flush dye into the toilet. In a short amount of time the colored
water will appear in the sewer main if the residence is hooked up to the sewer
system.
In the event you are not currently connected to the sewer and wish to delay
connection, the City Engineer may, on written request from the property owner,
extend the time to connect to the public sewer for a period of up to a maximum of ten
(10) years; provided that, at the property owner' expense, the Snohomish Health
District certi(ies, in writing, to the Public Works Department that the existing sewage
CITY OF CV[RETT • 3200 Cedar Street • EvereP, WA 96201 •(425) 257-8800 • Fax (425) 257-88E2
