WETLAND CLASSIFICATION - COWARDIN SYSTEM <br />The dassification for the off-site wetlands, as described by the Cowardin System in <br />Classification of Wetlands and Deepwater Habitats of the United States, 1997 <br />edition, is as follows: <br />Wetlands P, and B: Palustrine: Forested, Broad-leaved Deciduous, Seasonally <br />Flooded. <br />WETLAND CLASSIFICATION - CITY OF EVERETT <br />Under the City of Everett's Environmentally Sensitive Areas Ordinance No 1838-91, <br />the off-site wetlands are dassified as follows: <br />Cate�ory II Wetland: This wetland, located south of the site, is a riparian <br />wetland associated with a tributary of Swamp Creek. As a riparian <br />wetland, this area meets the criteria for a Category II wetland <br />classification u�der the City of Everett's Environmentally Sensirive A-eas <br />Ordinance. Category II wetlands in the city of Everett typically receive <br />75-foot protective buffers of native vegetation measured from the flagged <br />wetland boundary. <br />Catego�lll Wetland: Wetland B is located east of the subject site. This <br />non•riparian, forested wetland is less than one acre in size. As such, this <br />wetland meets the criteria for a Category III wetland. Cate3ory III <br />wetlands in the city of Everett typically receive 50-foot protecti�e buffers <br />o( native vegetation measured from the flagged wetiand boundary. <br />SENSITIVE AREA $IGNS <br />Signs shall be placed to permanentiy mark the boundary of tF�e Environmentally <br />Sensitive Areas. Exacc sign language and locations sliall be approved by the City of <br />Everett. An example of sensitive area sign language is as follo�vs: <br />ENVIRONMENTALLY SEN:ITIVE AREA <br />TH!S WETLAND AND UPLAND BUFFER ARE PROTECTED TO PROVIDE WILDLIFE HA61TAl <br />AND MAINTAIN WATER QUALITY <br />PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB THIS VALUABLE RESOURCE <br />The signs shall be constructed of aluminum or similar durable material. The,� shall <br />be secured to the minimum 4" X 4" X 7' pressure treated fence posts buried a <br />minimum two feet deep in quick setting concrete. <br />2 � <br />
