These <br />comments address b2.'Iding issues only. Additional revisions or additions may be required by other <br />departments (such as Utilities, Manning or Fire). All references refer to the 1997 Uniform Building <br />Code, as amended by the State of Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code 2001 Edition, <br />unless stated otherwise. <br />In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to <br />provide the Building Division with two complete new sets of drawings reflecting <br />the corrections requested. <br />I. Bearing walls ever 10'-0" tall are required to be designed by a licensed Washington State <br />Structural Engineer per Table 23-IV-B. Provide analysis for 12' walls. <br />2. Reference nailing schedule 23-II-13-I. <br />3. The prescriptive requirements for wind and seismic loading allow an alternate braced wall <br />panel (APWP). However, ABWP's are limited to a maximum height of 10'-0" and a <br />minimum width of 2'-8". The plans as drawn do not meet the prescriptive requirements for <br />lateral bracing. Provide lateral analysis prepared by a licensed Washington State Structural <br />Engineer. <br />4. Building dimensions were reduced for compliance with zoning code, all dimensions <br />affected need to be changed on plans. <br />5. Specify sheathing on floor in loft. <br />6. Provide stair section, show all components stringer, tread, handrail (height and size), <br />guardrail etc.. <br />7.
