The Everett Municipal Code require� all property owners within 150 feet or adjacenl to a public sanitary sewer shall connect their private sewer system to the pu:�lic sewer after being notified by the City of Everett Public Works De�.�artment. Our records also indicate that your property is adjacent to, or is within 15U feet of an existing public sanitary sewer. I have enclosed an excerpt from our sanitary sewer chart indicating the proximity of �our property to a public sar�it�.ry sewer system. Any costs to connect, including construction ard monthly sewer service charges, is to be borne by the property owner. If you believe your residence or business is currently connected to the Ci��'s sewer main, please contact the City of Everett Public Works Department at 425-257-8800 so we can update our records. A sewer F�rmit and application issued by the City and signed by an inspeclor is one viable means of proof. Another alternative to prove the structure is connected to the sewer system is to allow the City of Everett to perform a dye test. A dye test requirns the owner's permission and the resident's notification to allow a city employee to eriter the premises and flush dye into the toilet. In a short amount of time the colored water will appEar in the sewer main if the residence is hooked up to the sewer system. In ihe event you are not currently connected to the sewer and wish to delay conr.ection, the City engineer may, on written request from the property oH�ner, extend the time to connect to the public sewer for a period of up to a maximum of 10 years; provided that, at the property owner's expense, the Snohomish Health District certifies, in writing, to the Public Works Department that the existing sewage system is operational. The Snohomish Health District can be cor�tacted at 425-339-5250; ask for the Wastewater Division. To request a waiver, please return the enclosed form. Everett Municipa!
