An e�dsting driveway paralleling t6e east side of Silver Lake Creek will be removed <br />and benches created for planting shrubs and vees. Figure 4 depicts the pro6le change <br />proposed to expand the ripazian/wetland habitat along the creek. <br />'Ibe water supply for the wetland areas will be from surface runof� Silver Ialce <br />Creek, and groundwater. <br />Method o[ Mitigation <br />Mitigadon will include the following components: <br />• identification of specific site topography and groundwater and surface water <br />elevations; <br />• excavation of streamside bench areas; and <br />• planting of trees, shrubs, and emergent vegetatiou. <br />Table 1 presenu the species of vegetadon proposed for placuing, and Figure 5 <br />presents a schematic vegetadon plan for creation and enhancemen� <br />Plant species selected for planting aze those rernmmended by the Was6wgton State <br />Department of Wildlife for riparian, open water, and shallow water rnnditions (Washington <br />State Department of Wildlife 1984). <br />The proposed mitigadon plan will provide the followir,g benefits; <br />• improve flood storage of Silver Lake Creek by increasing the floodway width; <br />• improve t6e dive�sity and width of ripazian habitat along �ilver Lake Creek; and <br />• improve the habitat value of the existing pond and adjacent wedand area by <br />providing additiontil wetland plant vegetadon. <br />77me L(ne <br />The midgation azea will be developed during earth-work (grading) activities for the <br />remainder of the site.
