29 March 200
l.yle E. Whelchel
2009 122" Place SE
Everelt WA 9t3208
►Engineering & Public Services
Re: S:wage Conneclion Waivcr Request
Oear Mr. Whelchel:
The C!; of Everelt has received your request for a waiver of connection to the City of
Everetl sewer system along wilh the Snohomish Health District certification letter that
your seplic system is funclioning satisfactorily.
1'our request has been reviewed and you have been granted an extension for up to six
(6) years. This extension is based n a satisfactorily operating septic system This
extension will be void when the six year time frame expires, or the Snohomish Health
District noti(ies you that the septic system is failing. At that time you will then be required
to connect to the available sanilary sewer main.
Everett Municipal Code further establishes that all properties within 150 !eet of an
available public sanilary sewer shall pay to the City an amount equal to ihe sewer service
charges eslablished for other users of like kind. All rates and charges so paid shall be
credited toward lhe sewer connection charges applicable at such time as the property is
connected to the sanitary system. It is the City's intent to begin the applicable monthly
sewer service charge, currently $38.40 per month for a single family residence, if this
charge has not already been started. It is estimated al current connection rates that in
approximately two years, you will have accrued enough credit to cover City sewer
connection charges at the time you connect.
If you have any questions please contact Mike Papa at 425.257-8800.
Sincerely,
—

Ryan L. Sass, P.E.
City Engineer
c: Mike Papa, Ulilities

Tom Thet( , P.E.
Utilities Director
