Wellend C is forested, and Wetland B is a beaver
pond. Wetland A is connected but has lower value, as it is
mostly scrublsf,rub,
Shore stabilization is not applicable.
Pollullon assimilation and sediment retention for WeUands A
and B are high, es they are heavily vegeteted, have a
constricted outlet, and will effectively clean water. Wetland C
s a closod basin with no direct outlet. However with
dovelopment an overflow device will be Installed, and Wetland
C will have e high value for this function. The leve' of value is
relsgatod by si::e.
The weGands attenuate floodwater storage, as they have
constricted outlets. Wetland C will act as a storm water
detention pond for natural storm water in the area.
• Storm water uetention is tho same es pollution assimilallon.
• Stream base flow maintenence Is high for Wetlands A and B,
as they release water slowly to tho stream.
■ The wetlands provide minimal ground water recherge, as they
are underlain by relatively impermeable, dense basal till.
(b) Buffer Baselfne Functional Valuos
Functional value of the buNers for fish and wildlife Is low to high
depending on tho encroachment by tho urben area. The areas
that are heaviiy vegetated provide high function, while those
areas with lawn and dlsturbance have low value.
3847 BBA, Inc. 1/11/05
