Code requires that all praperty owners with;n 150 feet and/or adjacent to a public sanitary Eewer shall connect their private sewer system to the public sewer after beiny notified by the Public Works Department. Th� costs to co��nect, including construction and monthly sewer service ch�rges, will be bo:ne by the property owner. A review of existing records indicates that your property is not connected to the public sewer system. our records also indicate that your property fronts on, or is within, 15o feet of an existing public sanitary sewer. i have enclosed an excerpt from our sanitary sewer cnart indicating the proximity of your property to a public sanitary sewer system. You are beinq notified by t:�is letter to r,onnect to the public sewer. In the event you do not wish to connect to the sewer the City Engineer may, on written request from the property ownr_r, extend the time to connect to the public sewer for a period of up to five (5) yc�ars if the followinq condition is met. The existing sewage system shall be inspected by the Snohomish Health District at the �,roperty owner's expense and a written certification shall be submitted to the Public Works Department indicating that the existing septic system is acceptable to the Snohomish Health District and will function for at least five (5) years. The Snohomish Health District can be contacted at 379-5270. Everett Municipal Code further Establishes that all properties within 150 feet of an available public sanitary sewer, who fail to connect after notice by the City, shall pay to the City an amount equal to the sewer service charges established for other users of like kind.
