<br /> DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT:
<br /> The City submitted plans and specifications for the Bond Street Combined Sewer Overflow(CSO)Control
<br /> Facilities in December 2008. The Washington State Department of Ecology approved the plans and
<br /> specifications. In 2009,the total estimated cost for this project was$23 million. At this time,the revised
<br /> cost estimate for completing this project is$16 million. The City entered into a$6.2 million State Revolving
<br /> Fund loan to begin construction. Construction of the Bond Street Interceptor and Lift Station 5 Force Main,
<br /> two of the five construction packages,has already begun.
<br /> The City was notified that in early March additional funding may become available for completing
<br /> construction of the project. However,a Notice to Proceed must be awarded to a contractor by early June
<br /> 2010, in order to use the additional funds. Due to the short time frame for bid and award, an authorization
<br /> for a Call for Bids is being requested at this time.
<br /> RECOMMENDATION:
<br /> Authorize a Call for Bids for the remaining Bond Street CSO Control,acilities projects.
