This contract could be worth $35 billion, and The Boeing Company's
tanker could create as many as 12,000 jobs in Washington State over the life of the contract.
Boeing has a history of producing successful tankers and will build the new tankers in Everett with
a highly skilled workforce. The City values these jobs and will work to ensure Washington and the
Puget Sound region remains the best place to design, build, and market commercial airplanes.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Resolution urging the U.S. Department of Defense to select The Boeing Company to build
the next mid-air refueling tanker.
C:\Documents and Settings\DWilliam\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Fileslorent.Outlook\PLG9GKOG\Council Agenda Cover Sheet Boeing Tanker.doc
