')-ar Pete: The rear corner of the great room may be ":lipped" to meet lot line setback requirements. As I understand it, the corner is to be clipped Ey approximately 14 to 16 inches toward the dining room and 3 fee, toward the front of the bui .ding. Under these conditions, the following changes must be made to the lateral bracing system • The rear wall of the great room, designated as shearwall type 4, must have the edge nailing pattern increased from 6 inches on center to 4 inches on center. • The sole plate nailing for this same wall must be increased from 16 penny nails at 8 inches on center to three 16 penny sails per 16 inches, or the sheathing may be extended to the mudsill with no splice at the s-ile plate line.
