C lfq CCahC,1 M(4 aL?->
the fence lowered to code requirements.
Tim Vardy countered stating that the fence is only 5' in the
rear measurinc rom their side of the fence and not including
the poles. He stated that he removed some lilacs from the side
neighboring the Osborn's property which has allowed the tenants
to look outside the windows.
Mr. Osborn, of 2511 Grand, stated that the fence is 64" high
since it is 4" above the concrete sidewalk and is 5' in height.
Fence is 3' from the four windows of his hoi,se.
Linda McKay, of 2931 Nassau and in support o'. the variance,
said that she did not realize the fence company would cut the
Osborn's trees but she felt that the fence is needed for the
children's safety. They have had a survey done on their
property.
Doug Lever, of 2925 Nassau and neighbor across the street,
supported the variance stating that the cyclone fence does not
obstruct any views and that a higher fence was needed to
prevent children from climbing over the fence. Rohert Drake
supported the variance stating that there has been a problem
with thefts.
Mr. Osborn only asks that the fence conform with what the code
allows, not that there be no fence at all. He had also
informed the fence company what the allowec'. height of a fence
was.
MOTION: C.J. Ebert moved to approve the variance allowing a
601' high fence except next to the rental on the Osborn's
property where it must be lowered to be 1" below the lowest
window sill. Mrs. Duchea seconded the motion.
VOTE: All in favor.
ITEM 6
Applicant: Jeffrey Gehrig CG _pU
1329 63rd St.
Everett, WA
Variance Requested: To allow the construction of a 1700
square foot garage and shop which
would exceed the 1000 square foot
maximum lot coverage and the maximum
50% coverage in the rear yard for an
accessory structure allowed by code.
