MEMORANDUM <br />TOt JIM LANGUS <br />PROMt DAN MATHIAS <br />DATEt February 8, 1988 <br />EUDJECTI DRAINAGE PROBLEM AT 2112 71rd STREET <br />The reideat at Morrows regarding 2a 2:,rainger problem am hisppproper)ty allld calledlMr <br />Epperson on February 8, 1988 to discuss the drainage problem. <br />There is a drainage system on private property that drains an area <br />west of Jefferson between Jnckson and 74th Street S.E., including Mr. <br />Epperson's property. The drainage system was constructed prior to <br />annexation and consists of undersized and <br />substandard <br />dr material <br />system <br />example old hot water tanks). A Port <br />recently collapsed. Mr. Epperson would like the entire system <br />repaired to avoid future problems. <br />Mr. Epperson had previously discussed this drainage problem with City <br />personnel. He was told that the City diesn't maintain drainage <br />systems on private property, unless there 1e an easement stipulating <br />that the City is responsible for maintenance. Mr. Epperson felt that <br />prior to annexation there may have been an easement naming the County <br />as the party responsible for maintenance. I told Mr. Epporson <br />thaif <br />he could locate such an easement that I would forvard it tothe City <br />Attorney's office to determine if the City would need to assume the <br />cn stated <br />talktto countyenance personnelpandi attempt for locates an easement. he would <br />cc: Al Theal <br />Clair Olivers <br />
