We received a complaint on 03/25/09 about a new carport and she ds that were constructed without permits. I responded to the complaint on 03/30/09 found the complain' valid and posted a stop work order on the spot. The structures encroached into the setback areas and thus would not be allowed. This was explained to the owner at posting. The owner came to our office shortly after the posting, spoke to staff and agreed to remove the non compliant structures. Due to the co-operative scenario the demolition permit was apparently waived. We would expect the owner to complete the removal of these structures in a compliant manner so continued me,, coring is appropriate. I have since advised staff that a demolition permit would be the best solution for tracking compliance in these scenarios. I'm sure they did not get a permit to accomplish this task being it looks like they are doing the work on the weekend. Al Ps I'm working on the other Lowell addresses also.
