September 3, 1981
Conough Homes, Inc.
Attn: Sandra Hopper
12040 98th Ave N.E.
Kirkland, WA 98033 J
RE: Storm Water Detention System ar323 61; - 75th Street
Dear Its. Hopper:
To ensure proper atormwater management, the City of Everett Engineering
Department will be routinely inspecting privately owned storm water
detention systems on a yearly basis. Careful attection must be given
the maintenance of these dra'nage systems. It i■ the property owners'
responsibility to regularly have all the catch basins in the system
cleared of sediment, in particular the catch basin housing the flow
reetrictor. If the reetrietor becomes clogged, the detention system will
not function and the potential for flooding and for pollution of the
receiving water body increases.
The drainage system at the above address was recently inspected by City
staff members. We found that the Park Place detention System in not
functioning. The reetrictor catch basin is filled with dirt to the
middle of the outlet pipe. The detention pipe is also half -full of dirt.
A longer chain for the clean out gate must bo installed and welded to the
catch basin frame.
At Boardwalk, the reetrictor catch basin grate is broken in two places and
must be replaced. The clean out gate chain must be welded to the catch
basin frame.
This work must start within 30 days of your receipt of thioLletter. Please
notify this office when the work is completed. If you have any questions
regarding this matter, please call Dan Mathias at 259-8811. A copy of the
City of Everett Drainage Ordinance is enclosed for your information.
Slrcerely,
ALFRED R.
