August 7, 1981 <br />Joe Shephard <br />O'Donnell, Brigham h Partners <br />9725 S.E. 36th St. <br />Suite 304 <br />Mercer Island, WA 98040 <br />Utility Crossings on 16th Ave. W. <br />Per our conversation this morning, we will approve_ open cutting across 16th Ave. <br />A. for your storm drain and water main crossings as follows: <br />The water connection is to he moved as far north as possible <br />(immediately south of the existing fire hydrant tee). The Water <br />Department will Install the tapping cross at that location. <br />Your plans will have to be revised to reflect new locations for <br />the water lines detector vaults and water meters affected. <br />Your plans must detail a detector check vault on the east side <br />of the street that will support truck traffic as the new location <br />will fall in the drivewav area. <br />The trench crossings In the street area shall be saw -cut; Jack <br />hammering Is nw_ acceptable. <br />If possible, curb and gutter should be tunneled. If it must be <br />removed, the minimum length acceptable shall be 10 feet. <br />Trench backfill shall be as follows: <br />coarse sand bedding, with sand backfill to 6" over the pipes <br />the remainder is to he backfilled with crushed surfacing <br />top coarse, compacted to 954% of maximum density <br />the asphalt concrete patch is to be 1" thicker than was <br />removed and finished to a level line across :he trench area <br />If you have any questions regarding these conditions, please contact Denals <br />Gabelman at 259-8811. <br />ALFRED R.
