Geotechnical Engineering Services Report <br /> Proposed SERS Public Safety 9-1-1 Communication Tower <br /> 319 76`h Street Southwest, Everett, Snohomish County, Washington <br /> PSI Report No. 704-05224-1 <br /> December 26, 2000 <br /> 1.0 Introduction <br /> Professional Service Industries, Inc. (PSI) ha:; conducted a geotechnical evaluation for the <br /> above-referenced project site in ge-ieral accordance with the scope of work as outlined in our <br /> Proposal No. 704-00-P133 to Mr. Ron Ottosen of Valmont Microflect, Inc. (VMI), dated <br /> November 7, 2000. <br /> 2.0 Proposed Construction <br /> Project information was provided by Mr. Ottosen and Mr. Steven Diamond of Tower Engineering <br /> Consultants, Inc. (TEC). We understand construction will consist of installing one 160-foot tall <br /> communication tower(Tower ModF.t No. 72-M960-160) and an associated lightly loaded, single- <br /> story equipment building west of the existing City of Everett water tank facility. Tower information <br /> provided by Mr. Ottosen is summarized below. <br /> Tower Structure Type 3 leg <br /> Tower Height 160 feet <br /> Tower Base Width 16 feet <br /> Tower Foundation Preference Mat or drilled pier <br /> Overturning Moment 3,240 ft-kips <br /> Base Shear 38.44 kips <br /> Maximum Leg Shear 24.14 kips <br /> Maximum Leg Uplift 224.64 kips <br /> Maximum Leg Compression 245.28 kips <br /> Grading plans are not known at this time and we have assumed cuts and fills will be limited to 2 <br /> feet from existing grade <br /> r , <br /> l.L <br />
