Item 2 recommends engineered deep footings
within 15 feet of the top of the embarkment, and item 3 recom-
mends that footings be placed to bear directly on the struct-
ural fill, and that this inspection be conducted.
During the course of our field investigation, the following
work was conducted :
1 , Footing distances from the edge of the bank were measured,
21 Base of footing elevations were determined using a hand
level and stadia rod on an adjacent bench mark,
3: Footing excavations were measured and probed for loose areas.
I Based on the foregoing work, it is our opinion that the foot-
ings are set back from the edge of the embankment an adequate
distance, and are underlain by compact and competent soils.
We trust that the foregoing information is adequate for your
purposes at this time, and appreciate this opportunity to be
of service to you on this project.
