The Uniform Building Code provides that all permits expire by
limitation if the work authorized by the permit is suspended or abandoned at any time after work is
commenced for a period of 180 days. If you wish to prevent the permit from expiring without
documentation of completion,you may:
1) Request an inspection of work that has occurred,to document continuing progress,
or 2) Request final inspection if the works completed,
or 3) Submit a written request for a 180 day extension.
Please respond within 10 days. After that time the file will be sent to our Records Department for
microfilming without final approval.
